Optimus Removals did a stellar job in helping us move to our new property this weekend. Booked on very short notice and Nicole was so helpful in arranging the removal - very responsive, constant communication and overall great service. The driver was incredibly polite, efficient and tidy - no items damaged and nothing lost. Can't fault the service and very thankful for getting us moved so quickly - would highly recommend and will be using again.

The most horrific and traumatising experience.

We were approached by Optimus removals when our booked removal men cancelled the day before our move and they somehow knew, looking back in heinsight we can see something wasn't right then contacting us a few minutes after the booked removers cancelled the day before! But it was the day before our house move we were desperate, stressed and in a panic and this is what they prey on!

They said they would take on the original booked removal quote for a 5bed house move to 10 mins away -move out one day move in the next they agreed to match the original quote! However once they arrived the quote changed almost every hour it just increased and increased and increased! They were extremely rude and aggressive on the phone demanding extra payment constantly and bombarding us with emails of different quotes whilst the packing and removal was occurring! They were so persistent with calling and emailing to increase the price that my partner could literally not do anything else!

On the day we were meant to move in to our new home we had a series of phone calls from them demanding yet more money - all our stuff was already loaded on to 3 vans outside the new house and they held it to RANSOM demanding we had half an hour to give them another 2k or we would not see our stuff again and it would be taken away!!! At one point an extremely aggressive lady told us to walk into a bank that minute and take out 2k immediately!

Then we had a "director" on the phone threatening we would never see our stuff again if we did not pay up immediately!

Our quote started out at 2k and we ended up having to pay 6k+

As for the actual work; The packing was horrendous like they'd never done it before drawers just tipped into boxes, they tipped out everything when we said the drawer could just be sealed, things Brocken, unlabelled or labelled wrong - hugely confusing with the stress of moving . Removal men were grumpy and put most of our important stuff in the garage, at one point I was told that "the men were very angry and I needed to get my husband" it was honestly unnerving and I felt terrified especially after being blackmailed into paying thousands more or never seeing our processions again!

On top of the stress of moving this whole scam completely shook us - it's disgusting that they saw an opportunity to fleece us of all the money we had left after an expensive move the price tripled and all our processions were held to ransom.

I am scared by the whole experience.
Please do not use this company it is a scam!
