They were fabulous from start to finish. I initially emailed them with photos and dimensions of my kitchen, and they came up with a rough estimate. This was acceptable so Carl came round and spent a couple of hours with me at my house planning the new layout and suggesting some of his own ideas, which we implemented, and were completely right. He even advised where to put an extra radiator, which has made a massive difference to the warmth in the kitchen, and I would not have thought about that position myself. He then came back a couple of weeks before the fitting to measure exactly, and I tweaked a couple of things, and asked for a bookcase to be added, which was very reasonable.

The fitters were superb, and got the job done in 2 days. They worked so hard, and were so professional, and even my husband (who is very difficult to please!) was very impressed.

We are so, so pleased with our finished kitchen - the layout works so well, and the standard of the kitchen is fabulous. We would definitely use Murdoch Troon again if we ever moved. Which I', not planning on doing any time soon, as i'm in love with my new kitchen!

The quality of the workmanship is faultless, the finished product, colour match and all accessories used are of high quality.
Murdoch & Troon, against all the odds, made sure we had a working kitchen the day before lock down, then as soon as safe and permissible, returned to complete the job, being careful and respectful with regards social distancing.

Where to begin...

Honestly we couldn't recommend Murdock Kitchens anymore highly!! The service they provided truly fantastic, from Carl to Ben to the fitters we couldn't be happier. The service was professional, friendly - they went truly above and beyond.
We originally had Carl visit over a year ago to design our kitchen. We had previously had Wrens, Wickes, Howdens before I found Murdock kitchens through Pinterest. Unfortunately none of the companies listed could see my 'Country vision'. On Carl's arrival I explained my vision briefly and he instantly understood what I wanted and drew the plan out. Carl was able to discuss functional practical aspects i.e. having the sink on the end of the island to guide our decision.

We paid the deposit and unfortunately had to put the kitchen and utility back two months (as our floor wasn't ready) - Carl went above and beyond to switch us around with another of his customers (as they were fully booked until September).
Carl came over 6 weeks prior to the installation and spent the morning going over everything. I could arguably be classed as a 'Fussy' customer - I described a specific colour I wanted for the main kitchen colours - he showed me a colour that wasn't on the normal list, to make sure I was happy with our decision. I grilled poor Carl with around 25 questions that I had been compiling - he put my mind at rest for each one and offered advice for anything I wasn't sure about.

The fitters came and within two days of seriously hard work they had installed our beautiful kitchen and utility - to say we were blown away was an understatement. They went above and beyond helping with pipe work, skirting board etc. Both days they worked until 9pm to get the job done. On the first day we noticed a couple of the doors were not exactly right - amazingly they had made, painted and refitted them by the next day!

We have since called Carl to ask if we could have an additional hooks for our mugs added to our coffee bar area - Carl has said he will sort this out for us as soon as he can. He has also said this is free of charge!

We couldn't love our kitchen and utility anymore than we do. It took 2 years of planning - we utterly love what they created for us!

If you want a bespoke, 100% solid wood painted kitchen for frankly the same sort of price as mass produced flat pack chipboard this is the place to come.

We were looking to replace our ancient kitchen, but didn't much like the idea of Wren, Wickes and so on, so we thought we would put together some freestanding units. Murdoch Troon came up on searches and we compiled a list of their standard units. Ben came back rapidly and said that we could have any unit in any size made for us for the same prices. Working from an initial idea and measurements by us he then planned our whole kitchen, producing detailed plans and elevations - by hand, none of this CAD nonsense! We went back and forth multiple times and landed up with a fantastic design.

As we live in Scotland, Murdoch Troon do not do installation, but they recommended a courier firm they use a lot who delivered all our units and worktops for a very reasonable fee. A local joiner installed it and said it was the best he had seen, commenting that even super expensive designer brands never went together as well as this. Everything was the right size and of excellent quality. If we had gone to one of the smart Edinburgh firms I reckon we could have paid four times as much quite easily.

Units are solid pine, worktops thick oak. Joints are dovetail, hinges proper ones in a choice of colour, door stops absolutely solid, as is everything. There are multiple paint colours that you get sent actual samples of, and something like 40 or 50 handle options available. If you want sinks and taps those are are included too, although you can use your own and Ben will accommodate the right sizes. Basically absolutely everything you need comes with the units. And even spares of hinges, handles, paint to touch up, oil for the worktop...

I really cannot recommend highly enough.

From the moment we saw the Murdoch Troon display in Boston no other kitchen company could match their quality and style at a reasonable cost. Design and advice was given in a friendly professional manner without any pressure to buy. The installation team arrived on time and did a superb job, efficient and tidy. In fact the genuine service from everyone involved made the whole experience of installing a new kitchen stress free. We're so pleased with the result and are more than happy to recommend this company.

Having bought 4 kitchens for various houses in the last 3 years ( I’m a property developer ) I can honestly say that Murdoch Troon are great..!!! From start to finish the service and product are second to none and at a price not far off flat pack rubbish that you then have to pay to get fitted.. keep up the good work and see you for kitchen 5 soon…

From initial contact we are delighted with the service provided. The survey was carried out with measurements and advice. The service provided was very professional and dates given were arranged to suit. The installation was carried out by a team who worked relentlessly to finish work to a very high standard.
