I was holding off this review but I am beyond frustrated with howdens. In summer of 2023 I asked for a new kitchen to be designed. The designer Charlie came and measured the kitchen but upon delivery my contractors saw that he did not properly take into account the ceiling bit and therefore required more panels and some genius thinking from my contractors. How he misses such an important detail is a mystery.
Then when the electrical equipments were delivered, we realized they had supplied a faulty fridge. It took forever to get it resolved as they forgot to tell us that we had to bring the fridge down two set of stairs to the front of the flat when the new one is being delivered. this delayed our new fridge for another week or so. Then Charlie told us he would offer us as a gesture of good will the labour cost. He didn’t specify how much, but when invoicing them he told us it was only £150. Apparently he is also the deputy manager and how he messes up so many times is beyond me.

I’ve sent emails to the howdens HQ complain department but has heard nothing.

Recently it was our fault but we broke the induction hob’s outer layer. All we need to do was to get a new glass panel, but apparently howdens no longer supplies them anymore which is ridiculous as it is less than 2 years hold and how the piece is no longer in circulation is questionable. We are now looking at shelling addition £1600 when the part that needs replacing should only cost £200. What a joke of a store and I would not recommend howdens to anyone.

I have been working with this branch for number years as a trade person.
Since been under new management 3 years ago it’s running nice and smoothly.
Of course sometime we have small issues but this is always been resolve promptly and hassle free.
Outstanding service, great respond massive professional.
I recommend this branch to all my customer and friends.

Massive thank you to:
Tom the manager,
Charlie , Harry, Julian, Zane, Kate and the warehouse personel.
Please keep it that way 🙂

The sales person was very nice but drawings were not updated and there was lots of bits and bobs that were not represented and created mistakes later, we have to swap some units and bins.
Sadly lots of problems afterwards. I couldn't never access my account and they have been now three months asking for money but no one actually sorts out the problem. It seems they want to charge twice for the same things. Really difficult the communication and the action on this matter.
Even after contacting the reviews team still the matter is not sorted, its now November and I started with this problem at the end of July.

Disaster from start to finish:

1. Kitchen measured incorrectly
2. Kitchen design did not work and the worktop could not be templated.
3. Incorrect replacement units were sent twice.
4. Missing items in the many deliveries we had.

Using Howdens delayed our kitchen install and increased our Builder costs, AVOID.

The process of creating a simple project could not have been more tedious. Communication was very poor leading to mistakes. They don’t reply to emails often and have to be called multiple times to chase up queries. The designer was always busy and would not return calls. Despite complaints to reviews@howdens, they still delivered incorrect parts. Howdens Battersea did offer to correct their mistake after the build was done. I would avoid using this branch

Dealing with branch has been an absolute nightmare. Somehow our order was incorrectly arranged from another branch, fine not their fault, but the time and lack of communication to rectify the issue has taken us into a second week. Deliveries turn up when they feel like it and there is no getting through to Tom as he never seems to answer the direct mobile number he gives us. The branch line rings and rings and when is answered the person on the other end unusually can't actually solve your issue or find Tom. We use Howdens regularly for jobs, but on this occasion it has put unnecessary delays and pressure to complete a very simple refurb on a very important job. The deadline is moving closer and closer and we are still waiting hoping the delivery were promised will show up. With each day that comes a goes we have a man on site twiddling his thumbs as he can't fit the kitchen, we need to complete the job for our client. Making us look incompetent and ruining our reputation. We paid for the kitchen pity you can buy the service.
Usless and incompetent is the only compliment i can muster for this lot right now.

I have bought a kitchen and some doors from Howdens Battersea and had mixed experience - the designer and reception were very good but the delivery staff I encountered not very good at all.

Recently I ordered some doors over the phone but the staff took the wrong order, after delivery I realised the doors were not of the sizes I ordered, therefore arranged a swap which happened a week later.

Although it was a mistake by the store, I took all the wrong doors down to the ground floor reception myself to make it easier for the delivery person to take them away. When the delivery person arrived, I asked him whether he could help bring the new doors into the reception (only a few steps away from the van), because it was their mistake in the first place (otherwise they would not have provided this swap for free), and I took all the wrong doors down to make his job easier. To this he refused very bluntly. When I explained it was their mistake in the first place, he said that I was the one who made the mistake!

It would be unfair to say that this upsetting experience represents Howdens Battersea as a whole, but it does hurt customer relationship a lot, I would have second thought next time when I need something again from Howdens Battersea. For people reading this review, it is only feedback to that delivery person as my experience with other staff in the branch was very positive.

Just got my Kitchen from there. Just remember to put extra space in the designs, as not all walls are straight
