We selected Hobson’s Choice in Winchester to design and install a new kitchen as part of a renovation project of our London home.

After considering other London companies, we selected Hobson’s Choice, with Guy Foan being our lead Design Consultant contact. Guy and his team were extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of Bulthaup kitchens and Gaggenau/Meile appliances. They came up with a design that met and far exceeded our original vision and requirements.

Throughout the project, Guy and his team were a pleasure to work with. They have been extremely professional and thorough in their attention to detail and in the subsequent delivery and installation of the kitchen which was completed according to plan and budget. Hobson’s Choice were always flexible in coordinating with the other building works in progress, changing their own dates to fit in with the overall project whenever necessary.

When the kitchen was installed, we were abroad but were delighted to find that Guy’s team had done an excellent job, not just in the expert installation, as evidenced by the detailed photos they sent us, but also in covering and protecting the kitchen from the remaining building works in progress in the open plan space.

All in all, Hobson’s Choice oversaw our entire kitchen project from start to finish, encountering some unique challenges, with absolute professionalism, competence and expertise. They completely lived up to the confidence and trust we placed in them, delivering a kitchen that we absolutely love and has exceeded our vision for aesthetics and functionality. Guy has stayed in contact with us following project completion to ensure that we are enjoying a problem-free experience and to address any usage questions that we may have.

We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hobson’s Choice to anyone considering a Bulthaup kitchen, however large or small their project may be, and we will certainly be returning to them for future kitchen needs.

Everything about our experience with Hobsons Choice, Guy James and Misha has been outstanding. We were delighted with the design and choice of materials and fittings, and the way Guy listened closely to our needs and designed accordingly and creatively. And the quality of the installation is superb. The care and attention to detail, and the skill in tiling in particular, was exceptional. Alongside all that has been the way Guy has communicated with us throughout. I was a little worried at first at paying upfront, having had a bad experience with another firm many years ago. We are delighted with our experience with Hobson's Choice (Winchester Showroom). Having purchased a Bulthaup kitchen the service was unfaultable from beginining to end. Guy offered superb advice on bespoking our new kitchen to suit our needs and layout, and was patient and accommodating when our whole house refurbishment caused delays to the original schedule. Mysha and James were skilled and meticulous when it came to fitting. We're in London, so we're not exactly local to Winchester. But we'd highly recommend Guy and his team to anyone looking to replace their existing kitchen.

We previously had a Bulthaup kitchen in a smaller build project several years ago and had been very happy with it, so when it came to building a new house we didn’t hesitate to choose Bulthaup again. Preferring to use local suppliers where possible, Winchester was the nearest showroom.

Pieter du Toit was our designer and we immediately felt in safe hands. He completely understood the nature of the house design and what we were trying to achieve. In fact, apart from the odd tweak here and there, one of his first designs was pretty much what we ended up going with. As well as a main Bulthaup kitchen, for a back kitchen and laundry room Pieter suggested using Schüller. The quality and finish of both of these Schüller rooms is also excellent.

With COVID and the vagaries of a new build to contend with, Pieter was both patient and supportive - a voice of calm when many other things on the project were far from it! He communicated promptly and efficiently, both to us and our builder which ensured that both schedules worked seamlessly. So impressed were the builders that they have subsequently recommended him to other clients.

From the initial concept, to the skill and craftsmanship of the fitters and the quality of all the finished products, I can highly recommend Bulthaup and Pieter and the team at Hobson’s Choice Winchester. Huge thanks to all involved, we are thrilled with everything.

Our journey with Bulthaup/Hobsons Choice, Winchester began when renovating our home and we wanted a kitchen that would be at the heart of our living space. Our inspiartion for a Bulthaup kitchen was the beautiful cherrywood island as seen online when researching style and design.
From the moment we first visited the showroom in Winchester, Richard Carter and Richard Keyes were brilliant, in helping us explore the layout options, to maximise the kitchen space and views into the garden. We also visited the showroom in Swindon.
From then on, the amazing Pieter Du Toit guided us throughout the kitchen design and installation process. Pieter was attentive, patient and just superb.We tailored the colour chioces and use of materials to our vision and are delighted with the outcome. The fitters were also excellent and the attention to detail was second to none.
We would strongly recommend Hobsons Choice and cannot thank them enough for our wonderful collaboration. Angela and Frank.

We wanted to create what we eventually learned to call a ‘media wall’. We picked Hobsons Choice in Winchester as they are local and who best understood what we were trying to achieve. Basically we wanted to take prominence away from our TV and to hide all of our media resources: hi-fi, music vault, Apple TV and so on. Decluttering and making a stylish focus. Guy designed the scheme for us with Remedesio italian made components, in glass and walnut

Once the components arrived they were fitted by Ben and Ben, to a standard way beyond expectations, to a level that puts everyone else in the shade. Every microscopic detail was attended to and exceeded. Shaun was drafted in to put in all the electrical fittings, sockets and switches that we needed, again a thorough and professional job. The final item is now in place and we are still smiling
