Kate restored a mid-century sideboard and rocking chair for us, after they were poorly re-finished by somebody else. The work was completed with care, in quick time, at the agreed price, but most of all to a high standard. The before and after photos should speak for themselves, but the furniture now looks just how I expected and is fit for another 50 years!
We should’ve gone to Kate first of all and would suggest that everybody else does too!

Kate was responsive and very professional. She completely transformed my grandma’s chest of drawers. It means the world to me that I can keep my grandma’s legacy but at the same time, have a stylish piece of furniture that matches the rest of the wood. Kate at Femme Fatale Finishes came to my rescue after I foolishly scorched my oak fire surround with a lit candle. She persevered with patience to fix the scorch mark and now it’s practically invisible. She has high expectations both to please me and herself. Her work was tidy and the price was not extortionate. I appreciated her follow up call to check I was happy. It’s unusual nowadays to find a tradesperson that such pride in their work. Thoroughly recommend.

I approached Kate to bring back to life a cabinet that had belonged to my Grandmother. She has a natural instinct to know exactly what you are looking for and made suggestions for the colour, which was perfect. I supplied the wallpaper for the back of the cabinet which she has applied flawlessly. I cannot thank or recommend Kate enough, she is a perfectionist and has brought back to life a piece of furniture destined for the tip. The pictures do not show the finish she has achieved, we are thrilled with how it looks now.

Kate was recommended to us by close friends, so we had high expectations. She exceeded them. We had a whole bedroom full of good quality furniture but the outer coating was rapidly unwrapping itself and we had no idea how to tackle it. Fortunately Kate did. She came and gave us confidence, quoted for the work and we made a plan. The pieces which could be transported to the workshop would be. Other fixed pieces would be done in situ. We chose a colour from a swatch of samples she brought. The finished product is amazing. The surfaces and paint finish are totally smooth and blemish free. Well what can I say. Kate did the most amazing job for my butchers block worktops. They were very tired,very sticky and not a very nice colour. Then Kate arrived to make me very happy. Kate did an amazing job on what was my grandmas dining table. It had water marks and scratches on it and now looks better than when it was new. All my expectations have been surpassed.
