After many years we finally made a decision to swap our cramped and impractical kitchen with a sunny and spacious living room. Thanks to Guy and his team of carpenters, together with the recommended plumber and electrician the new kitchen feels like it has always been there. We live in a Victorian house so we were looking for someone who could do the house justice. There are so many favourite things to mention but these deserve a special mention.
1. Oven fan - the ready made oven hoods I saw were utilitarian and I was giving up on installing something that was boring and prepared to just open the window when cooking. Then I saw a picture of a tall hood in a house in California. Importing it was out of the question. So Guy had designed the hood to fit the proportions of the room and Darren has built it from wood with me able to make decisions on the shape and colour. It’s a real statement piece.
2. Tall cupboard to the right of the oven - this is a perfect fit for the shape of the wall. It’s deceptively deep and houses my Thermomix, a very useful but not the prettiest of kitchen appliances. Guy designed the cupboard to fit it perfectly without taking away too much of the space around the cooker.
3. Spice rack - once the cabinets were installed it transpired that our spice racks were not fitting where I thought they would go (I didn’t mention it to Guy during the design stage). These were one of our first purchases as a couple so I was keen to integrate them into the kitchen somehow. Guy has come up with the idea of using the arch that would have been empty otherwise and John has built the housing for the containers. They also disguise the appliances cables, a perfect solution.
4. Living room - the new room has exceeded all our expectations as all our energy concentrated on the kitchen.
I would recommend Guy and Dowers to design and build any room and cabinets in any home and especially those that need something unusual. I’m already thinking of the next phase in my home remodel and Guy is the top of the list to help me do it. THANK YOU!!!

Guy & Pam of Dowers and their excellent team have recently fitted our new kitchen. It is the bespoke of the bespoke! Having had two luxury kitchens fitted in previous properties I can truly say their work trumps them all. Superb attention to detail, exacting craftsmanship all made in their own workshop. We used oak from our grounds and that was dove-tailed seamlessly into an exquisite finish. If you want an unique kitchen at very fair prices, Dowers is the place to go...we can't recommend them highly enough.

I moved into a very old cottage and wanted a new kitchen which complemented the rest of the house. It’s a small kitchen area so wasn’t sure I was going to achieve what I was hoping for. Well Dowers Kitchens certainly did and more. It is absolutely beautiful and such a pleasure to work in. Guy was so very helpful and I was able to choose exactly what I wanted. The craftsmanship is fabulous and Guy and his team were brilliant.

Guy Dower and team fitted our kitchen over ten years ago. Fair wear and tear meant that under sink drawer was stuck and useless. Guy designed a new replacement that perfectly matches the original design. What superb craftsmen and engineers are employed by Dowers Kitchens.
