UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY

We had a bathroom fitted by Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre in November 2021. The design process and furniture selection were relatively straightforward, however, in hindsight the overheard telephone conversations that Nicky had with customers whilst we were at the showroom, should have rung alarm bells.

The build process was significantly protracted, with the contractors running into issues on power supply and drainage, which had apparently been incorrectly assessed during the initial survey and pricing.
Overall, we were satisfied with the finished bathroom and completed the payment. During Christmas 2023 we noticed that the chrome on the radiator was peeling off and then the handle fell off the sink tap. Considering the high price we paid for the bathroom, the low quality of these fittings is genuinely concerning, however, as the parts are under warranty, we thought the replacement process would be straightforward. We sent an email to Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre in January 2024, asking for the items to be replaced.

After several months of broken promises and failed appointments, with numerous “cast iron promises”, “100% guaranteed”, “180% guaranteed”, “we’ll be there, don’t worry” etc. etc. We eventually got to the 3rd of September 2024, and somebody turned up to fit our new radiator and tap. Hooray!!! They were both the wrong ones, and they left with a promise of being back later in the week with the correct replacements.

Today (10th October 2024) after another month of phone calls and further broken promises they are going to drop the parts off. Basically, I have been left in a position where I must find a plumber to fit them. I will pass the bill onto Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre, which, if necessary, I will pursue payment through the small claims court. So, I may write an update to this review.
Pursuing this matter has been incredibly time-consuming. Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre never, ever phone you, you always must phone them. Even if they are yet again not going to bother turning up for an agreed appointment, they will never ring you to offer one of their myriad of excuses, you have to repeatedly phone them until they are embarrassed into answering your call. On the dozen or more occasions when we arranged for them to come and undertake the work, there wasn’t a single time when we received a phone call to say they couldn’t make it. Not once. Every single time we had to phone them. It took fourteen phone calls today before anyone answered.

I would under no circumstance recommend this company to anyone. If they are unable or unwilling to fulfill such a minor warranty claim, where would we stand if there were significant issues? They are by far the most unprofessional company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

This company literally cannot be trusted to fix a tap.

It's sad to see that our review will fall into the category of a very poor service when others are very happy with the work and service they received.
We made initial contact in February 2023 to completely refit our bathroom and separate toilet and upgrade the kitchen of a 2nd home small flat.
We experienced (at the time) a very professional, innovative, helpful consultation. Prices were agreed and work to commence late April to be completed when we visited in May. As good's etc were ordered we were invoiced and bank transfers of the different amounts paid.
The bathroom and toilet were partly completed in May but informed subsequently that some works remained outstanding due to other jobs over running.
Fast forward to August we were getting concerned that there was no sign of anything occuring. Communication was at best poor and it was always us who initiated it. We were given three dates when the work would be completed. All were missed and we were never contacted.
We realised the work was never going to happen. We took advice from Citizens Advice and were sent a template letter demanding the return of our money. We had good documentation of expenditure and communications therefore if repayments weren't forthcoming we would be successful through a small courts claim. The letter was sent by email and hardcopy. We had no response.
On a visit to the flat in October we decided to visit the Caldicot showroom. We were surprised when Nicky informed us that all outstanding items bought on our behalf had been returned to the suppliers. She assured us she would send us a refund which was done in due course. She has since given a full apology.

Great local company. John and Nicky gave me some great advice when I approached them about a new kitchen. The results of my new kitchen look fantastic and a little different to the norm. Glad I chose to use Caldicot kitchens rather than one of the larger kitchen companies that dominate the UK market. I feel I got a better service and choice options that were less mainstream, plus a great quality units. Very happy indeed!

THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISTRESSFUL EXPERIENCE WE'VE ENDURED. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
After multiple failed attempts at communicating with business owner Nikky to try and find a resolution, my only hope is to stop others from having to go through the stressful procedure of trying to get any quality of service from Caldicot Kitchen & Bathroom Centre

We paid thousands to have work done in our Mum’s bathroom. The job was not completed, and we had begun back and forth conversation with Nikky to find out why and more importantly when the work would be completed. When it was possible to make contact, we were told that Nikky was dealing with family issues and was trying to get things sorted. This was for a job that was booked over 12 months ago and with all due respect, the business owners' personal affairs are not of our business and shouldn’t alter the promises made over 12 months ago.

Now my mum is left with a hole in the ceiling of her new bathroom suite and no extractor fan that should have been fitted when the job was supposed to be completed 3 months ago.
Please avoid using this business if you value your time, money and mental state.

The Worce company I have ever dealt with ! Full of lies and broken promises 😕 Have been waiting for a shower tray to be replaced since November which they said could be done in 7-10 days .. still waiting as job ran over ! Fitter broke wrist ! Another job has run over ! Extra excetra .. they never call back ! 5 visits later last Friday they will call Monday with confirmed day and one week on .. you've guessed NoCall! 😕 Iv'e also had tray didn't come in after being told it was there !! Give these a wide berth .. Useless is not strong enough ... Paul Gummer
